Política de Privacidad
Your trust is the foundation of everything ReadInk builds. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it. We collect only what we need, we never sell your data, and we treat it with the same care we bring to the page.

1. Who we are
ReadInk (“ReadInk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a publishing house and education company operating the website readink.org and selling courses, books, decks, and related products through it. For the purposes of data-protection law, ReadInk is the data controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any question about your privacy, you can reach us at any time at tk@readink.org.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account & purchase details — your name, email address, billing address, and the products or courses you buy when you register or check out.
- Payment information — card and payment details are entered directly with our payment processor and are not stored on our servers; we receive only a confirmation and limited transaction details.
- Communications & the newsletter — the name and email you provide when you join The ReadInk Letter, contact us, or reply to our emails.
- Course activity — your progress, lesson completions, and any work you save inside a course.
- Reviews & testimonials — anything you choose to submit when sharing your experience.
Information we collect automatically
- Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring links, gathered through cookies and similar technologies.
- Analytics — aggregated, largely anonymised data about how visitors use the site, so we can make it better.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the products, courses, and account access you purchase, and to deliver digital content.
- To process payments, prevent fraud, and keep records required for tax and accounting.
- To send you the emails you asked for — The ReadInk Letter, course updates, and, with your consent where required, news about new titles.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To understand and improve our site, products, and content.
- To meet our legal obligations and protect our rights and users.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Our legal bases (for visitors in the UK & EU)
- Contract — to deliver the products and courses you buy.
- Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies; you may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, operate, and improve our site, provided your rights do not override those interests.
- Legal obligation — to keep records the law requires.
5. Cookies & analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies — required for the site, cart, and secure checkout to work.
- Analytics cookies — via Google Analytics (Google Site Kit) to understand site usage in aggregate.
- Functional cookies — to remember your preferences.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and where required we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. We honour recognised browser privacy signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC), as an opt-out request where applicable.
6. How & with whom we share your information
We share personal information only with the trusted service providers that make ReadInk work, and only as needed for them to perform their service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Hostinger | Website hosting and email infrastructure |
| Our payment processor (e.g. the provider shown at checkout) | Secure payment processing |
| MailerLite | Email newsletter and course communications |
| Google (Analytics / Site Kit) | Website analytics |
| Jotform | Collecting reviews and form submissions |
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), in which case we will notify you. We never sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above: account and course records for as long as you hold an account and a reasonable period afterward; transaction records for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically up to seven years); and newsletter data until you unsubscribe. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. International transfers
ReadInk operates from the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information from the UK or EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent lawful transfer mechanism.
9. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your personal information.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, including unsubscribing from emails using the link in any message.
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — note that ReadInk does not sell or share your information in this sense.
- Non-discrimination — we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
To exercise any right, email tk@readink.org and we will respond within the timeframe the law requires. UK and EU residents also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority; California residents may exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA as described above.
10. Children’s privacy
ReadInk is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact tk@readink.org and we will delete it.
11. How we protect your data
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections (HTTPS), reputable hosting and payment providers, and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we work continually to safeguard your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of any breach as the law requires.
12. Changes to this policy & how to contact us
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice on the site or by email. Please review it periodically.
