A Pescatarian’s Cookbook: A Guide is a hardcover collection of forty original seafood recipes, built on a quiet, unconventional conviction: that fish, chosen with precision and prepared with care, is the most extraordinary and underestimated protein on earth. Forty dishes, drawn from the world’s great coastal kitchens, from Valencia to West Africa, Provence to the American South. This is not a regional collection. It is a passport for anyone who loves to cook fish and seafood.

Every recipe is an argument for doing things properly: the right fish, the right technique, the patience to let flavor build. Each is paired with wine and spirits, supported by a complete global fish-sourcing guide, and followed by a journal page, because the cooks who matter do not simply follow recipes; they make them their own. Write in it. Return to it. Let it become yours.

  1. Zion Olatunde –

It treats cooking fish as a skill to be understood rather than simply a collection of recipes to follow. The journal page after each recipe turns a cookbook from something you consult into something you gradually write into, until it almost becomes a record of the cook’s own evolution. You teach the craft carefully enough that the reader can eventually stop following your voice and start hearing their own. And with recipes moving from Valencia and Provence to West Africa and the American South, fish becomes the thread connecting very different coastal food cultures.

Every recipe is paired with a journal page, so the book feels less like instructions and more like something you make your own, and moving from Valencia to West Africa, Provence, and the American South gives it a real sense of place.

I really enjoy the concept of this. The inclusion of how you liked the meal, notes of what you changed and giving it a personal rating is a good idea to encourage making the meal again in the future. Also like the concept that the rating is something that one could change depending on how the recipe is improved/changed over time. My only change id make is if the recipes were grouped by theme a bit more. I also enjoyed the recipes themselves as they were easy to follow.
